The Kingsbury Brooks, West and East, drain water from the south and east of Fryent Way Open Space.

Kingsbury West Brook is underground for the whole of its course, except on the open space when wet. It crosses Salmon Street roundabout and heads towards Church Lane, finishing its subterranean journey in the River Brent.

Kingsbury East Brook is less secretive. Two main tributaries from Church Lane combine near the junction of Kingsmead Avenue and Townsend Lane where the stream takes a sharp southward turn. Flowing underground as its twin above, it makes an appearance to the light in the allotments behind Church Drive.

The course is then open for half a mile or so, eventually passing along the bottom of St. Andrews churchyard. The latter is very overgrown, with rampant bramble and scrub, making it nearly impossible to access the Brook. Here birdlife is abundant and the scene reminiscent of old times. The waterway then runs into a culvert near the Welsh Harp Reservoir dam.
