Water plays an important part in our lives. Throughout history we see that man has always lived near water. Big cities all over the world grow near rivers. London itself has grown on and around the River Thames. Brent waterways, although not as significant and well known, have been important to the development and prosperity of the area. Brent Council, together with the Heritage Lottery Fund and London's Waterway Partnership have enabled, for the first time, information on the waterways of Brent to be made available on the worldwide web as a resource for all. Information presented is based on research and current initiatives. |
