"Nature Conservation Objectives for the Site
- Maintain/establish the appropriate balance between open water and wetland,
woodland, scrub and grassland communities;
- Maintain and enhance populations and diversity of breeding bird community
of lowland fen;
- Maintain and enhance breeding populations of Great Crested Grebe;
- Maintain and enhance the structure and composition of woodland communities
by appropriate management including coppice and pollards;
- Maintain the integrity of semi-natural habitats by removing/controlling
non-native and invasive species such as Japanese knotweed;
- Monitor and where possible control water levels and quality of the site
to maintain and enhance the present wildlife interest;
- Regulate recreational activities on the site in order to minimise the level
of disturbance to breeding and wintering birds;
- Continue to monitor bird population on the site;
- NVC community and other botanical survey work is a low priority for the
site; and
- Continue working to the agreed management plans."
