I trust that you have
found the BBE website informative and I would like to take this opportunity
to invite you to join BBE as a member.
BBE was formed on
the 31 January 1994 as a Company Limited By Guarantee (No 2893123) (COMPANIES
HOUSE) and then registered as a Charity (no 1064783) (CHARITY
COMMISSION) with the aims as expressed in our Memorandum and Articles
'to promote for the benefit of others:
(a) The conservation,
protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment anywhere
in the area of benefit;
(b) The advancement of public education about environmental matters and
of the ways of better conserving, protecting and improving the same;
(c) The provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for
work, recreation and leisure with the object of improving the conditions
of life of those inhabitants in the area of benefit.
Since 1994 we have
secured over £2,000,000 in financial support through donations and
grants and our environmental work is well described in the sections dealing
with our two main programmes.
The resulting good reputation built up over the years has attracted companies,
organisations and individuals to support us by joining BBE as a member.
The Membership elects the Directors at the AGM (usually October each year)
in recognition of their Guarantor status (£100). Members have the
opportunity to involve themselves in practical ways, for example our annual
Trees for Health event.
